And she gets home and he’s always the same,
So drunk he can hardly say her name,
She tries her best just to see it through,
But she’s never heard the words, I love you.
He’ll sit there till he’s had enough,
If she tries to stop him he’ll get tough,
The only way she can get away,
Is pretending she’s not there.
She loves to dance,
She loves to sway,
There’s nothing like the feeling, of her only get away.
While the music moves her body,
And her heart flies to the skies,
You can see the tears falling,
Like raindrops from her eyes.
Cause she’ll never have this moment,
While she’s living in this state,
Fly away and follow your dreams,
Before it gets too late.
Now he turns away the food she makes,
She is told she always makes mistakes
So he throws the plate against the wall,
And he screams at her as she starts to bawl.
If she argues then he’ll strike her face,
Who could ever harm such a pretty face,
She’ll get out of here in her dreams,
Then it’s never as bad as it seems.
Then one day it’s all too much for her,
And she runs away alone,
Nothings ever quite as scary,
As feeling all alone.
Just listen for the rhythm,
Feel it fill up your soul,
Your future is yours,
Through the rock and the roll.
